Opera Hotel Bangkok

Have stayed at this iconic hotel over many years whilst visiting Bangkok and it was like coming home. The staff became good friends and we enjoyed many evenings out on the town. The hotel was a family run concerning never really changed over the years, it was clean had all that you needed with a fantastic coffee shop that was open 24 hours until it finally closed at mednight. My brother visited the Opera yesterday 23rd Feb 2018 and it was all boarded and fenced up with closed on the coffee shop door. Definetly the end of an erea with some fantastic memories that will last a life time.

Comparing to it's price, it's very good hotel with good and friendly stuff. Good air conditioning and fridge. They really help us without even asking I really respect the stuff. Breakfast wasn't good. Wifi signal was weak in my room 302

We know and love the Opera! And we stay there every time we visit the City during the past 30 years. Still a family run, small hotel in a perfect location. Years ago this was high standard: A city centre swimming pool and coffee shop/ restaurant, full a/c and mini bar was top luxury back then. Now the Opera looks a bit dated and has long been overtaken and eclipsed by progress and more potent neigbouring hotels. Still, with no CCTV or joiner's fees, free breakfasts for 2 at 800 or 900 Baht/ night/ room it's a real bargain.
