The Chill Classic House

Ultra-hip, chic and cool. Big room and bathroom. Comfy bed, fridge, great air-con, HDTV and fast free Wi-Fi make for an enjoyable stay. Excellent value and good location...close to bus and train stations. Plenty of Thai street food and open-air restaurants and three 7-11 nearby. 1 Thai vegan joint 10 minute walk away. Sadly no watering holes (bars) that we could find. Also, there is NO breakfast served at the hotel, despite being led to believe that in-room breakfast was available by both Booking.com and the signage in the room. No big deal, but would have been nice if true.

The chill classic house. Love this place. Close to the tourist attraction, very warm welcome from the staff even I checked in quite late in the evening. They offered me the room on the third floor which is the city view. Nice I can see the mosque in the morning. The room is quite large, clean and comfortable. The decor is unique. If you love to visit padriew highly recommend here to stay. The coffee and biscuits are available to serve in the morning. Thanks

This is a quaint boutique hotel that really deserves five stars, at least from the budget conscious traveller. It is a good value, in a good location, is attractively if quirkily decorated, has friendly staff, and is clean. But on my overnight stay three things irked me. First, while the place is spotlessly clean, I was hit with an overwhelming smell of mustiness when I was shown to the room. You get used to it after five minutes, but it hits you again when you leave the room and return. Admittedly, this is the Thai wet season, and I personally know how hard it is at home to keep the rooms aired and to stop mildew. But Chill Classic House must do something to air the rooms before letting them out to paying guests. Second, I assume the hotel gets its "Chill" name from the fact that in the evening and again in the morning before I checked out, I had to put up with cold water showers, even though I ran the tap for five minutes in the hope that some hot water (or at least warm) might find its way through. None did. Third, the on-line booking, it boasts balconies with a view. Yes, I had a view all right. The windowless backside of another building just a meter away from the rim of my balcony. This didn't particularly bother me as I was not interested in a view, but I did consider it less that straight advertising. If Chill Classic fixes these things up it deserves 5 Stars. But I am only giving it three.
