Chateau Chiangmai Hotel

For 3 star rating, the hotel's room rate is considered reasonable and comes with breakfast. Big and spacious room, with family connected rooms option, clean and free wifi. The hotel could be improved by refurbishing to make the outlooks brighter and more attractive.

The hotel says on the booking.com site that it has baths in its rooms, when I went into my room, there was no bath in the bathroom, so I asked them if they had a room with a bath, she says there are no rooms with baths... The website actually shows pictures of baths, and things looking very brand new, however, the walls are stained, no colour... The fridge, the tv etc are old, it says it has a mini bar in the room, that too is also false... just a fridge with water.... The phone wasn't even connected up... I am wondering how the breakfast will be in the morning, it looks very empty and unpopular.... I know I could've found better for cheaper... Not good at all.. I want my money back! too far from everything too, and tuktuk ride 10mins into the main square is 250 baht... really expensive...

After a long & exhausting car journey we needed to find somewhere as quickly as possible to stay on the canal road. The canal road being convenient for golf, the town itself & Hang dong south of the city. The price was about what we wanted to pay, so checked in unsure of how long we were going to stay & dumped our luggage. This hotel is getting on a bit & thus seems to cater for coach parties visiting Royal Flora, a little further out of town on the canal road. Our room was tired, the air con unit was big & noisy & the bathroom was in need of some attention. It does offer a good view of Doi Suthep though. Basically the entire place is need of a good refurb & is very dated. Breakfast was below average too. But no doubt looking at the coaches parked outside & the hordes of Thai's, the hotel is getting screwed down on price & that is reflected on the breakfast fayre. We stayed only 1 night, but were stung with an exorbitant bill for the few items of laundry we had done...& I mean exorbitant!
