Finlay House

THIS place was just up the road from where our hotel was, so we decided to give it a try. Some tables are laid out right by the open fronted entrance so close to the pavement you could reach out and touch passers by. But there is also a nice air conditioned interior and, as it was a blisteringly hot day, we opted to treat ourselves to a bit of coolness. Staff were friendly and brought us a menu from which we chose pad thai, a nice clear soup and stir fried pork with rice, pepper and lemongrass. I also ordered a coconut full of milk. The food soon arrived and it was very good while the coconut was so refreshing. We took our time and spent about an hour here. There was no pressure to leave, toilets were clean and well kept and the bill when it arrived was very reasonable. We would encourage anyone to come here and try a meal. There is good variety and a friendly welcome.

Visited the place yesterday for drinks thought it would be a good place to return for dinner. Tonight has been a shambles for service young lad on his own each meal has come out individually totally unacceptable. Drinks changed for quickness as too long to make crushed pineapple and strawberry soda. Such a shame we generally thought this place had potential. HelenB

Located on Loi Kroh rd. Great small restaurant. Friendly staff good prices. Breakfast is very good. Also a plate of fruit comes out when finished. Indoor and outdoor dining. Nice clean decor. Had breakfast there as my hotels inclusive breakfast was not so good.
