Kaldi House

First - great location. That's it. Notice on door saying building closed by police but a girl let us through the closed coffeeshop to our room. Room was large but a little dirty and dirty bedsheets. No tea or coffee. Awful bathroom. Broken shower holder and shower tray. Cracked sink. All round dirty. We're given code to security lock to let ourselves in and then left completely to ourselves. She returned in the morning to make a very poor breakfast in the darkened, hot and closed coffee shop downstairs. Reminiscent of some places in Russia or Turkey I had the misfortune to come across years ago

The room was huge and pretty nice with two single beds, perfect for two people. The room itself seemed like it had been updated. Sadly, the washroom did not match the room and was in need of some serious upgrades. It was horrible: cracked sink and grout had turned black in many places. The room had a balcony with some chairs and a table, it was a nice spot to sit in the evening and listen to the live music being played at the hotel across the road. We were on the top floor (4th floor) and there’s no elevator, so lifting heavy luggage was a bit of a struggle. The staff we talked too seemed friendly. They were helpful when we asked questions. The breakfast was included, and the coffee was great. We had the ham sandwich which was OK. The wifi worked fine. Location: We really liked the location, not too far from the airport, could easily walk to places, lots of restaurants, shops, etc. around. Cleanliness: the room was clean. The problem was the bathroom, not sure if it was dirty or it’s because it is so old. As mentioned the grout was black in many spots. Comfort: we had single beds with one pillow, which were quite comfortable. Quietness: our room was facing the street and we didn’t hear any noise from outside, or from other guests for that matter, so no complaints about that. Would I stay there again: I don’t think so, mainly because of the bathroom situation. It’s too bad, given that the rest of the hotel was pretty good.

It is situated in a perfect location on one of the sunday walking market streets. The staff are amazingly helpful and sweet would definetly stay here again and also recommend. Plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby.
