Lanna Boutique Village

We stayed here out of season and it was exactly what we were looking for. Yes, it is 20 minutes from the city with not much else around it but we were looking for peace and tranquillity which we most definitely got. We had a scooter so getting in and out of town was easy. The grounds are well maintained and perfect for relaxing in. The pool was very welcome in the heat. The cabins are beautiful with comfortable beds (on the harder side). The wifi was good while we were there and a.c., hot water and fridge a blessing. Yes, there are dogs on the road in who often barked at us (they didn't like the scooter!) but they aren't wild. On foot they barked but didn't approach us. Intimidating if you're nervous around dogs but harmless. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The villa and grounds are nice enough, v.small pool, adequate breakfast, bad most time no internet, strong sewer stench from toilet at night, no room service or airport transfer as advertised - make sure you print out a map as location is in the middle of nowhere, even locals had trouble finding it! There is nothing nearby, no restaurants etc. Nothing to do, about 20 mins to old city. You cannot walk anywhere due to the pack of wild dogs at end of alley - advised by owners to walk only if your game - and take a big stick! The scottish/canadian owners have absolutely no customer service skills & know nothing of local area, we found them very rude and unwelcoming - which is not the Thai way! Dissatisfied.

From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. The family villa we had was georgous, the surrounding gardens were nice with an area for the kids to run around or play frisbee. The breakfast was nice, no dinner available but the staff more the happy to organise dinner for you from local restaurant. The village is a little way out of town but Mr Chai was our taxi service and was always at call to pick us up or drop off for cost of 300baht per trip. We did a great tour with Mr Chai and would recommend booking direct with staff for airport transfer and tours. Whilst a little way out of town would definelty recommend this village as a great place to stay with a family.
