Noble Homestay

Arrived off the overnight train from Bangkok, so already slightly tired and looking for a shower and lie down before exploring Chiang Mai! Arrived by taxi to find no one at the reception. No sign of human life at all throughout the building. Eventually, after an hour and contemplating finding somewhere else to stay even though we had already paid, another guest comes down stairs and kindly offers to go to the other hotel where the manager might be to let him know we were there. 15 minutes later a woman arrives and checks us in. We could easily just have taken the key ourselves and went to our room. In the three nights we were there, we only saw a cleaner on the morning we left. We saw someone on reception once, when I was lucky enough to have a hairdryer found for me (mentioned in the hotel description as 'in room') & we had to use the same towel the whole time. The room has quite thin walls and the toilet and sink in separate rooms. The shower was also hand held. Not ideal. Thin walls/ mosquito net 'window' led to the constant screeching of a cockerell from around 6am throughout the day. The location is okay but if you want to walk to the main old town area you have to walk through dark alleys and there are few quality pavements. Considering we paid £28 for 3 nights for 2 people it was 'good value for money'. However, you would still expect towels to be changed at least once and bins to be emptied. Also someone to check you out rather than leaving the key with a note at reception. This also led to us having to trail suitcases and luggage up to the main road as there was nobody there to help with taxis.

brutal place, staff never there, had to wait for an hour for another guest to show up so i could use his cell phone to call someone to check me in very loud at night, roosters and dogs make all sorts of noise beds very uncomfortable do not stay here

Booked two rooms with 2 beds each. On arrival being told only one room is available with one bed. Completely unhelpful. Tried to claim "no show" fee from us. The neighborhood is shantytown, really dodgy.
