Golden Beach Resort

Nice resort with reasonable price. We stayed E119. Nice view and just opposite beautiful Ao Nang beach. Breakfast was awesome.

Room: A307 (Deluxe Room with Breakfast for 2) My experience at this Resort was absolutely terrible. It started on the first night. I checked in around 9:00 PM. The front desk clerk took my passport, demanded a 3,000 Baht cash deposit (approximately USD $91), handed me one room key, and said nothing else. She gave no information about breakfast hours, hotel facilities, or even the check-out time. We had to find our room ourselves without any guidance. The next morning, the restaurant staff told me my room did not include breakfast. They wrote down my room number and let us eat but said they would bill us. I had to go to the front desk to prove my booking included breakfast. The staff confirmed it and simply said "OK" to me. no apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake. The housekeeping was unacceptable. Every day, the housekeeping lady would knock and refuse to clean the room even if I was inside working on my laptop. I had to leave the room entirely just for her to enter. The cleaning itself was lazy. she only changed the sheets, replaced the towels, and took out the trash. She never once cleaned the drinking glasses I used (they sat there dirty for 5 days), and she never cleaned the sink or removed the watermarks from the tap. I chose not to complain directly to her because I was afraid of how she might react. For the pass 5 nights, there was no Wi-Fi at all. On the 3rd day, they slipped a note under our door, but that didn't help. I was lucky I had my own mobile unlimited date. The worst incident happened on the 5th day (June 21). My partner and I went for a morning swim. The pool staff gave us two towels and explicitly said we could take them to the beach. We swam in the pool, went to the beach, and returned with sandy towels. We showered with fresh water and returned the towels to the older pool attendant (around 60 years old). I politely asked for two clean towels to dry off. He rudely told me "NO." He said the policy is strictly one towel per guest per day and the hotel has limited towels. I walked away and back to my room, After my shower in my room I called the front desk to complain. The receptionist told me she has "no power" to help and that I should go settle it myself. When I asked for a manager, she told me the hotel has no one I can speak to. She suggested I complain to the owner, who is currently in Japan and unreachable. When I asked to speak to the pool manager, she redirected me to the restaurant manager, Mr. Sumbong. I called Mr. Sumbong and explained I had already returned the dirty towel and just wanted a clean one for the afternoon. His answer was a flat "NO." I asked again, and he said "NO" five times in a row. He was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I was so shocked and angry that I packed my bags and went to check out early at 12:00 noon. The front desk lady gave me a rude look and ignored me. Another staff member handed me a piece of paper and asked me to write down my complaints, but I just wanted my 3,000 Baht deposit back and to leave. Not one staff member apologized. Not one manager came to see me. From day one to day four, I let the small issues slide. But on day five, the blatant rudeness from the manager and staff was unforgivable. I saw them treating other guests poorly as well, but when it happened to me, I had to leave. To top it all off, the breakfast was exactly the same every single morning. Nothing changed. My final advice: Krabi has hundreds of beautiful hotels / Resorts with amazing service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else. This Resort does not care about its guests.

Beautiful hotel, even though it has been around for a few years, it is very well maintained. Nice and always helpful staff. Beautiful pool. Good dining options. Absolutely quiet location right by the beach, separated only by a path. Tour service directly at the hotel - the ladies really put in effort and made good offers. Staff speaks English (reception, dining). Internet is available, but slow (well, just like at home).
