Pongpan House

Great location, close to bars and everything you need but very loud at night. Not a big deal for me. Though, the room was disgusting. Everything is dirty, small, broken or missing. The pictures are very misleading. I would never stay there again. I had to book a room in a Dorm next door (Ibiza House) to finish my stay in PhiPhi. It was just horrible... Oh, did I mentioned about the 2 cockroaches?! Stay away from this hotel.

We spent 2 nights here and agree with most the other reviews. Was expecting the worst but wasn’t completely horrendous. Our room was small but clean, the bed sheets were awful quality had rips and a few stains already on them. The bathroom didn’t shut and the shower fix holding it to the wall felt like it was going to fall off along with the toilet constantly blocking. The walls are awfully thin and music in the area is very loud but not an issue with ear plugs! We’d accepted all of this but the rudeness of the front desk staff was unacceptable and very unpleasant. There was a few of them at reception desk when we arrived but no one spoke to us we had to start conversation. Then We asked the night before we left what time the front reception desk was open as we had to get up early to catch a boat and we were told it opened at 7am. 8am we were still waiting for them to open so we could return our key and retrieve our 500baht deposit. When the guy came down half asleep he took the key disappeared without a word (assuming he checked if we used the mini bar) and questioned why we were checking out so early. After explaining why (catching a boat) he angrily said ‘not cool’ slammed the money on the table and didn’t say another word. Very unfriendly and unprofessional made us feel most uncomfortable.

I’ve given this place a two star rating as it is as titled, cheap and cheerful. The facilities are very basic and just about provide the bare necessities of air conditioning, toilet and shower. The beds are very cheap and uncomfortable but if your looking for somewhere to stay for less than £6 per person per night then this is the hotel for you!!
