This was our favourite stop on our 3 week trip to Thailand and Vietnam. We stayed 5 nights and could have stayed much longer. Already planning a return trip. The beach is stunning and having cocktails as the sun sets is magic. So much so that we ended up here almost every night for sunset. Why mess with perfection? Mango margaritas - yum. Stayed in a bungalow with garden view. It was great. 2 queen beds. None of the bungalows have pure ocean views as they are set a bit back from the beach - that’s where the restaurant and chairs are so we never really sat at our place - no need as the beach is right there with nice chairs etc. The accommodation is not fancy - so if you like marble bathrooms etc, that’s not what this is. It’s a cool clean beach hut, 1 minute walk down to the stunning beach and walking distance to great restaurants (May’s in particular!) Breakfast was pretty simple but delicious. Coffee or tea and a main breakfast item (thai or Mexican). If you wanted fancy cappuccino or extra fruit plate, it was extra but so cheap. Did 3 dive days (6 dives) - very professional. Mika was our dive guide - just my husband and I in a group which was amazing. Max 10 divers on the boat - so much nicer than the big dive boats we saw. Had massages on the beach - lovely - just book at reception. They also arranged laundry for us and scooters. Just ask for anything and they will help. Was not the fanciest place we stayed on our trip but we thought it hit just the right note! We loved it. We will be back!

Me and my family decided to take a holiday more a relaxing time after out heavy year, I had heard through a friend that it was an amazing resort for a getaway. The atmosphere was lovely and very accepting to my younger boys. The staff was outstanding at accommodating us within in our stay and made it accessible from us to get around.

We spent 10 days at the Lanta Castaway Resort. The highlight is undoubtedly the location, on the edge of a beautiful beach. We stayed in room D07, very comfortable and offering a soothing view of a superb and well maintained tropical garden. Unfortunately, the human experience was not up to the task: the reception was deplorable. With the exception of one or two people, the staff are unsmiling and seem to lack a sense of hospitality. Breakfast included is very basic; you have to add baht to get something right. If we will return to Koh Lanta with pleasure, it will certainly not be in this establishment."
