Tipchang Lampang Hotel

It is marketed as a "luxury" hotel but that was 20 year ago. They still charge premium prices for a 250 bath room. The pool was drained a long time ago but this is never mentioned. The rooms looks to be "renovated" with splashed paint here and there and silicone. If they lowered the price to the 200-300tbh range it would be a good place. Now they mostly survive on renting out party rooms and the shifty karaoke establishment in the ground floor.

Very ugly outside and inside! Dirty blanket on the beds terrible toilet. Door that don't close and any upgrade of room is just a waste of money the structure are very badly damaged and you risk an electric shock from naked cable on the rooms.

This hotel boasts being the first 'luxury' hotel in town; this could only be true if it was built 40 years ago and not a single maintenance job had been done since. Arriving at 4am without a booking we were just grateful to get a bed, which I admit was at least clean and comfortable. Beyond that though, the place was pretty gross. Dirty bathroom, dirty pool, dirty everything. Breakfast? It was yuk; sad looking weiners sat in cold water alongside other equally unappealing tidbits. Plates were dirty, flies were afoot. Tried to order drinks via room service, the phone didn't work, they took it away, and that was the last we saw of it. Staff were nice, and gave us help when needed, but it ain't enough to drag me back to this place again! Tip Chang - accept you've long lost that 'luxury' hotel status and target the backpacker market or get started on some seriously overdue renos!
