Phu Pai Art Resort

A quiet, relaxing stay surrounded by padi fields, flowers, picturesque Mountain View. Spacious room, a big double bed I got. Such huge toilet, shower room, wardrobe room, you can even party in it. However, it does look maintenance is in need of a catch up. Wall painting has fallen off, wooden fixtures are rotting. It’d be better to tile the shower room. Hot shower doesn’t work most of the time, it’s either too hot or just too cold. Dirty and old curtains. Breakfast is simple, limited array of western, local selection. They do provide a wide selection of western, local food though out the day at an affordable value. Staff are generally hospitable, except the reception. For strange reason, Thai hospitality of 1 particular reception staff is questionable. This resort is a far away from city center, about 15mins drive to town. They do provide free shuttle service to the city center at a specific time. It is recommended to have your own transport. That said, tuk tuk service is stationed here. Given the price that I’d paid here, I’d rather stay elsewhere. This resort is poorly maintained.

Stayed here for 2 days with a Tuk Tuk tour in Northern Thailand. The location is beautifully set in front of rice paddy fields and mountains as backdrop of the swimming pool. The rooms which are individual housed in wood bungalows are spacious. The bathroom is almost as large as the bedroom. Its clean and comfortable. Bottled water and a kettle with tea and coffee are provided. Most impressive was the friendly service. The owner was there attending to the guests the whole time. He personally made fresh coffee for guests at breakfast and offered to show the guests how to do it. We had dinner there one night and it was one of the best we had on the tour. The owner even offered to take our friends to town to attend the rice festival in his private car. Incredible service and highly appreciated.

Came across this place by accident when we were looking for the Bamboo Mini Golf. We ended up spending a few hours by the infinity pool lounging on the sunbeds and beanbags. The views of the mountains are unreal, and it’s so peaceful. There were changing rooms, a bar and restaurant, plus they also gave us a towel. For 100 baht each to use the facilities for the day it was amazing!
