SP Residence Nakhon Phanom

it is near to suvernabhumi airport and if you wan to stay only for a night to catch the flight.... this hotel will be best... as the rate is too low moreover it is only suitable for family and friends..... not for couples

This hotel is older and run down. But the low price makes it worth it. Nice location: 2 minute walk to many nice restaurants. 4 minute walk to the river. On the main street. 20 minute drive to the airport. Enjoy the view of Laos from the Mekong river. Hotel is clean. I would stay again as my 4th choice of hotel in Nakhon Phanom.

Everyone that follow and read my recommendations can see that I only review places I am happy about. Having said that, it does not mean that I have a lot of bad experiences because I am careful about where I book. This time however, I ended up in a place where I was not happy about it at all. First of all, the room was clean, the bed sheets was good too, the tv set was like a memory from from the 70’ies, the shower (that looked like someone have had a good time there considering the stains on the tiled wall) had hot water that came sprouting out like an elephant was dancing on the pipe line somewhere, the staff was friendly but showed a total ignorance to whatever issue I was inquiring about (and then I havent even mentioned the night staff at our arrival).. The view from the mini window was to an old factory with rusted roof and a parking lot in front - facing away from the landmark and the Mekhong river, but on the other hand - its a 3 min walk to get to the landmark from there. Not too noisy outside the hotel at night time despite the 8 person drink/eat table just below our “balcony” (stayed there Thur-Sun). Now, about the wifi -or lack of such .. I am sure there must be a torrent download machine on the wifi as it constantly went offline and the connection was lost, rendering it impossible for me to work, read news or even have a call (voice only) with anyone via the network. Sad movie. The only thing I found both suprising and positive is that you are allowed to smoke on the microscopic “balcony”. I travel a lot and have experienced a lot, but I would never come back to SP/NP Residences .. ever. I am sorry I didnt get to take any photos as I usually because the staff was rushing me to check out, despite the fact I had 20 minutes left and its low season (october) and absolutely no tourists in the area.
