There were three of us with a dog and a 10-year-old child. Everything is fine. The beach is wonderful. There are far fewer people than in Phuket, you could say solitude. The breakfasts are hearty and varied, there are two villages nearby with everything you need, from cafes to exchange and 7 eleven. In the end, they had lunch and dinner at the hotel for an extra charge. The difference is small, and they feed well. Every morning, animation, slide in the pool.

I had a lovely week at the beautiful X10 Khao Lak. Such lovely friendly staff from the gardeners to the Manager James and everybody I came in contact with were just delightful. The breakfasts were always delicious, the best omelettes and a great variety on offer. It’s an easy 10 minute walk into the main shopping area or you can catch their shuttle service.

All in all, it was unfortunately a very disappointing experience we had with the property. We arrived with quite high expectations, also due to the very positive reviews here and elsewhere, and were unfortunately brought back down to earth very quickly regarding the first impression: - Water slide was not operational; we were only informed of this at the end of check-in. - Room in a pretty miserable condition: Shower head not functioning, toilet seat loose, no wall without a significant dent, towels with dirt stains, drying rack on the balcony is a good idea, unfortunately rusted and unusable if you don't want to ruin your swimwear. - The only pool with play features is adults-only, a shame for the kids. In the restaurant, it continued with the service and food: - Quality of the food indefensible for the price. We ate better at the market for a fraction of the price; that cannot be the standard. Children's portions from the kids' menu were absurdly small; at least we got seconds upon request. Breakfast buffet has room for improvement. Lots of variety, high quality, but little available. - Service was friendly, but not very attentive. Various orders had to be repeated, for the most part only after they were brought incorrectly. The hotel is not responsible for the beach, yet it still presents a rather disappointing picture there as well. All in all, it was unfortunately too much, and we departed early after two nights. At least there was an accommodating solution here regarding the costs. We unfortunately cannot recommend the hotel; there are certainly more appealing options in the area (which we then chose). And before the CRM manager indulges in their appearance here now: I think all users of this portal know by now that you are working on your quality: Good luck with that.
