Booking our rooms at the Phuglong Hotel from overseas wasn't easy, but it was so worth it. As of now (May 2025), they don't have a website, so I contacted them through email and they would only take a wire transfer as a deposit - no credit cards. I was a bit wary, so I had a travel agent friend in Bangkok check them out to make sure they weren't a scam. She confirmed they were for real, and I sent them my deposit. I'm so glad I did. Miss Apinya in the reservations department was very helpful and communicative, and arranged everything for us. The location was perfect, the room was fantastic, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Phayao doesn't have much tourist infrastructure, and getting around, especially at night, can be a challenge without your own vehicle. The Phuglong is located right on the main road by the lake, and within walking distance of many restaurants and bars, 7-11, and pretty much anything you'll need. There are no taxis, and only a few Grab drivers, so the walkability is a huge plus. While in town, we passed by some of the other hotels we had been considering, and while they looked nice, they were isolated with no restaurants, etc. nearby, and we were so glad we had booked at the Phuglong. I highly recommend this hotel, and also walking down to Ai Wa Guan Phayao for a beer, late-night food, and live music, and Jantip restaurant for some delicious local food. Be sure to check out the walking street (Tanon Kon Deun) on Friday and Saturday evenings, too.

Excellent hotel in a very central position, overlooking the main street. My husband and I had a VIP room on the 5th floor with a spectacular view of the lake. The bed is perhaps a little too soft but huge, but you sleep well. Very kind staff.

The Phu Glong is well worth the visit. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again next time we pass through Phayao. The hotel is modern and gorgeous . The only negative feature is that the architect forgot to put bedroom light switches by the bed. One has to get up and cross the room to turn the lights on or off.
