A long-established natural resort located on National Highway 12 in Wang Thong District, eastern Phitsanulok Province. Surrounded by extensive forests, the resort grounds are moderately maintained with trees and flowers, and you can enjoy a sense of unity with nature. In addition, the Cake River runs for about 300 meters at the southern end of the resort grounds, giving you a view of the mountain stream like a private beach. The guest rooms are bungalow-style or single-family style, and the windows are well maintained and exquisitely designed to provide a bird's-eye view of the garden. The guest rooms are kept so clean that it is hard to believe they are in the forest, and surprisingly, they are highly controlled in that they completely shut out insects from entering the guest rooms and provide security for their comfort. Although there is a distance of about 300 meters between the guest rooms, administration buildings and restaurants, I am impressed by the promenade that makes the journey enjoyable. Although the Cake River is almost waterless in the dry season, the roughness of the exposed rock face at the bottom of the river is rather spectacular. The resort's management staff were also very helpful and provided us with information on each facility and effective advice on the surrounding restaurants in between cart rides between the administration building and the guest rooms.

If you are looking for a life surrounded by nature, you will love this resort. Wanathara locates next to the Khek river where you can hear the sound of water all day. It's like you walk into the jungle to find your room. However, it's scary in the nighttime. Lights are not enough. Breakfast is nice.

This Hotel is situated in the park with numerous number of different kind of trees and bushes (about which you can read on the special plate), and also it's a stone's throw away from mountain river, so living here you have a chance to drink cup of coffee, enjoing a breathtaking view. Yes, it's a bit far form the downtown of PHitsanulok, but, if you travel by car (like we do), it's not a problem, at all. Moreover, onsite, there are a Thai resturant and the coffeeshop, so you won't stay hungry. As for amenities, so we lived in the cozy house with a comfy bed (what else you need, if you were being at the wheel for several hours?). Also, as we stayed here during the cold weather, i would like to add, that the water was hot enough in the shower. Add here amicable stuff, who is ready to help, if you need so, and you'll get a perfect place to stay for a few days being in Phitsanulok. And, i can't help but say, that this place is, literally, drop-dead gorgeous and has many spots, where you can spend all day, making amazing photoes, so maybe you won't want to go anywhere from here, at all.
