Woraburi Phuket Resort & Spa - SHA Plus

Myself and my wife had the pleasure of staying at the Woraburi Phuket Resort & Spa between the 20th and 30th April 26. The primary reason for our stay in Phuket and this hotel was to celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary. When I made the original booking I had an estimated arrival time of 1500, however, due to ongoing situation in the middle East, our flight was changed and we were going to arrive at the hotel at about 0900 of the morning of the 20th April. I messaged the hotel and asked if it was possible to have an early check-in. On arrival at the hotel at 0910, we were met by the most wonderful reception staff and they informed us that our room would be ready at 1000. We were also given special tickets for “Dinner” and some complimentary tickets for the A La Carte menu. We were over the moon with all of this and after a short wait and a free ice-cream given to us by reception we were escorted to our room with help with our luggage. It was a perfect start. We had chosen a pool access room and we were not disappointed. The room was spotlessly clean, very spacious and the pool access area was just perfect. After partially unpacking to get our bathing costumes out, we were straight in the pool. It was brilliant. The swim up pool bar was also lovely and we did participate in a few cocktails while sitting in a tropical Paradise. I am not going to go into great details about everything other than to say the hotel is in a perfect location, next to the glorious Karon Beach and right next to all the bars and shops you would ever need, including the Karon Market. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and Smiles Restaurant and Bar where you can have a lovely meal inside or out or sit at the beach bar and have a drink watching the sunset was perfect in all respects. We used the restaurant a couple of times and even had a pizza which was lovely. However, we used the A La Carte menu for our wedding anniversary meal and wow what a meal. 4 courses, each one of which could have been a meal on it’s own. They were all delicious and the service was superb. We were even treated to a live band where we were able to dance to our favourite song. For us, where this hotel really stands out is the staff. Everyone was so friendly and they honestly could not do enough to help you. The maid service for the room was perfect and on the day of our wedding anniversary we were greeted with an amazing display of Swans and figures to celebrate our special day. This had been arranged by the reception manager, who had been contacted by our daughters about our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately I do not have all the names of the staff we had help us but I do give a special thank you to all of you, especially the reception manager, all the reception staff, all the room maids and in particular the one that made our special anniversary display on our bed, also to all the staff including the pool staff and breakfast staff that made our stay at your hotel so pleasurable. A special mention has to go to the bar and restaurant staff. A huge thanks to “Boy” (Wirat), “Aung Soe”, Olv, Nack, Mimi and all others who looked after us so well at the Smiles Beach bar and the pool bar. Thank you and you made our holiday very special and one we will not forget. I would also like to give a special mention to “Katy” who ran the holiday excursions desk. We had two excellent days out with the Phuket Tour and a visit to the famous James Bond Island. But a huge thank you for the complimentary tickets to the Phuket Simon Cabaret for the evening of our wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful show in all respects and so a massive thank you for that. All in all, we had the most perfect holiday in Thailand to celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary and it was the Woraburi Phuket Resort & Spa that made it happen. Hotel facing the sea clean and organized. Excellent breakfast and cuisine, ok services and smiling guys always ready to help you in case of need. Beautiful indoor swimming pool

The hotel doesn't pull on its 4 stars from the word "at all", even 3 can hardly be pulled. It's all old, smudged. We lived with my husband and we made a two-bedroom bed by moving two and a half, but moved them not along, but across and when the husband rolled over at night on his half I jumped on mine, then sensible and unfolded the beds properly. Mattresses are solid, sleeping like boards. No bed linen changed in 10 days. The curtain-tulle is visible torn was and just over the edge sewn right in a prominent place, immediately looking like in a homeless place. The bathroom has a bathtub with water taped to the wall, washing and all the water on the floor, no shower cubicle. And in general, the layout is stupid, the bathroom with toilet has a closet for things, a safe and all the things are constantly like damp, wet. They don't clean it up, they create it, they make the bed and put the towels in and that's it. The floor was wiped once in 10 days on about the 7th day of residence and dust and garbage were scattered around the corners, after this cleaning, half a meter of hair was lying all over the floor even though I have a very short haircut, clearly not mine. In all, in 10 days, on tables, nightstands of dust layer, on the floor hair, garbage, sand. Breakfast is like Groundhog Day, 10 days the same, the only sauce in the pasta changed 1 day cream, the other red. View of all rooms overlooking the pool, so don't overpay if they say room to a nearby hotel or city. The building is like a courtyard well, i.e. a rectangle with balconies on the pool and on the balconies opposite you and inside the rectangle building pool. And it turns out one side of the building is solar there only the sun gets, and on the other side of the building i.e. to you on the balcony the sun doesn't get at all. We were unlucky. We had a room on the shadow side. And for 10 days, we watched the lives of the people across the street on the balconies, and we'd better be looking at the city. The only upside is the sea nearby, across the street, but the sea was murky on this beach, went to Kata Beach right there the sea is clear azure like in Maldives. And the last one just finished when they were going home wanted to weigh the suitcase, because Icarus only gives 10 kg. of luggage, came to the reception asking for the scale to weigh the suitcase, and I am given a continental scale hand-held with a hook. Anyway, there's a four in this hotel and it doesn't smell.
