Capannina Inn

We stayed 11 nights over Christmas 2017. Room was ok, but the view from the balcony was a cement wall. The bed was comfortable, the lift was dirty when we arrived and remained that way. The breakfast was well below average, if you asked for coffee or eggs, the breakfast staff let know with their behaviour that they resented making you anything and didn’t want to do it. In the end we went else and paid for breakfast. So paid twice, as breakfast was already included In our package at the capannina. The hotel is run by an Italian, and if the guests aren’t Italian they didnt seem interested. On the plus side the location is good, and the hotel is on a nice quiet street.

We went here with high expectations after reading positive reviews here on TripAdvisor on their pizzas. I ordered a pizza with Italian sausage and the wife ordered a pasta dish. The pizza was mediocre - and only one the fourth best pizza I've had while in Kata Bay. This even though it's supposedly made by Italians. Same with the wife's pasta that lacked taste. Italians are notorious for their lack of service. The owner taught the employees well in this discipline. No one even came to ask how or food was. They probably didn't care. If you're craving pizza while in Kata beach find somewhere else to dine.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the rooms were very good for the price you pay . They had a free tuk tuk service although we never actually saw it move . The difference between giving this hotel 4 or 5 rating is if the room would have had a window
