Phuket Chaba

We had a terrible experience with the staff, they wanted to move us just because another client did not want the one they gave him, so they wanted to force us to change our room and start taking everything while my wife took a shower, which made our rating go down from 10 points to -100 points, in the end I did not allow this to happen, although in reality we wanted the money back and go to another hotel and we had no option.

We passed this hotel outside with our motorbike and it looked really nice from the street with a nice pool. As we were at another hotell that we had booked for our first week and was really satisfied but the location was not great, we decided too book one week here at Chaba. We booked a family room for three persons but when we arrived there was only a double bed. I went too the reception and told them my son 6years old needs a bed, and we have booked a family room for three people and expect a bed for all off us. They said it would cost 600bath pr day extra, I had too argue back and forth and the receptionist who almost did not speak English agreed that it should be three beds for three people as my booking said, but still he would have extra pay. I got to speak with a manager on the phone, she sorted out so after 45-60 min arguing they placed a extra bed at our room. The room is not clean, had to place a tovle at the floor by the bed, to brush off under my feet’s before going to bed. The shower has mould between the bathroom tiles and it’s the most irritating shower ever! There is a wall mounted shoverhead that squirts down the whole bathroom, and the water pressure is pulsating from high to low, something is wrong with a pump obviously. Stains on the walls and the hotell is infested with mosquitoes. The breakfast is a disaster! Nothings too eat if you don’t want rice and curry for breakfast. Or toast with jam with some cucumber and tomatoes, but all including small flies as they don’t have close lids on the food. Everyday Milk is empty, salami empty, butter empty, sausages empty. Cheese they don’t have. I ended up buying some ham from the supermarket to eat on the bread. Depending on who you meet you can be lucky to get some eggs prepared for you. Most of the staff don’t speak English good enough the understand the difference between scrambled eggs or fried eggs. The main pool had a problem, the circulation pump for the cleaning stuff had stopped, but the staff doesn’t bother to go by the pool to see that everything is ok, after 4 days the pool was green and murky. First when I told the staff that there’s a problem with the pool they got someone to repair it. The whole hotel is screaming for maintenance but it’s only the front of the building that has gotten any care ever. The cleaning staff left our balcony door open, left trash on the bench, night table was on the middle of the floor fore some reason and I had to take off the “blanketcover” and redoing it because they had put the blanket inside the wrong way so it was just a mess. location is good and that’s about it for the positive side. Not really cheap either.

This hotel was so near to many beaches surrounded in Phuket and it was a great experience being in the middle of where everything was accessible. The breakfast was lavish and this was value for what we paid.
