D Varee Residence Patong

rooms are big and clean , provide induction and cooking pot for coking refrigerator etc. food is good but no variety in food only selected food they served , staff is co-operative ,in my room hot water is not coming due to some technical problem

We rented a 2 bedroom apartment at D Varee for 10 days when we stayed in Patong. The apartment was spacious, and clean when we arrived. The pool is quite large and was clean, a good place to swim and relax. The first problem we had was with the hot water. In one bathroom there was no hot water and in the other the hot water would run cold. We contacted the rental agents (by email as advised when we checked in), they took 24 hours to get back to us. By the time the hot water was fixed (new water heater had to be installed) we had been nearly 3 days without reliable hot water. The slow response to our email by the rental agent was unacceptable. The apartment was quite worn and shabby. Formica on furniture and fittings was coming off, there was loose tiles in the kitchen area, and the fabric on the sofa was worn. The kitchen area had no usable bench space to prepare even a simple meal - we like to prepare our own breakfast and ended up eating out as it was easier. Cutlery was in a basket on the fridge as there wasn't even a draw for cutlery. The electric jug and toaster were on top of the fridge as well. There was a washing machine and a couple of clothes airers, so we could do our own washing. We paid 1400 baht to have the room cleaned and towels/sheets replaced after 5 days. Apparently we were expected to wash our own towels etc, hard to do when there's inadequate drying space for these larger items. There was a lot of street noise at night, even though D Varee is well away from the clubs etc in Patong. No screens on the windows meant we couldn't have the windows open at night (bugs would come in) Ceiling fans, or any electric fan, would really make a difference D Varee is walking distance to the beach, restaurants and other tourist activities i Patong.

Stayed here for 14 days, found the room very comfortable and relatively clean. Only issue I had was on one occasion when house keeping came round, they left my balcony door unlocked, and another Occassion they turned my A/C was turned off. Apart from that, staff kind and friendly and always there 24/7... Close to everything and away from the hawkers who try to give you scratch cards. Recommend.
