Leisure Place Phuket

The hotel is located along a road which links the two main roads leading North to Phuket town. Nevertheless it is not too noisy a rat run. The area used to be a rubber producing district but with the inevitable march of tourism, the 'village' now specialises in Thai boxing schools and latex outlets. there is still a local village feel with friendly characters manning the local eateries, laundry etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable with modern bathroom facilities and air conditioning, decent wardrobe space and even a tiny balcony. There is no lift which is a bit of a problem on the higher floors. There was talk of a restaurant but when we stayed, the hotel offered no services at all, although there are some parking spaces. To get anywhere without private transport involves a walk to the main road (five minutes or more) or hire a taxi. The staff were friendly and willing although English was not a strong point. The owner however speaks excellent English and couldn't have been more helpful. The reception staff are happy to contact the owner if you need help. Altogether a comfortable stay although we'd have been lost without a hire car.
