Pier 42 Boutique Resort & Spa

Main reason we come back to this hotel again and again is because of the convenience to Chalong Pier. If you book daytrip diving off Phuket, you need to be at the Pier by 8am or 9am depending on the boat company. Usual van transfers from Patong area pickup time are 700-730am depending on how many other customers they are picking up along the way to Chalong. Thus we can sleep in late and walk to the Pier, 3 minutes. On daytrip boats there's always simple breakfast such as sandwiches or eggs and ham. This hotel provides no frills breakfast from 730am, eggs of your choice, toasts, ham and sausages, cornflakes, fruits and of course coffee, tea and juices. Rooms are large and simple. Beds and pillows can improve, toilet facilities can improve. Small pool and jaccuzi good enough to have a beer and chill by the poolside after dives. Mozzies are everywhere including inside the rooms so be sure to spray repellent 24/7. Value for money, simple and basic for divers and nowhere close to luxury for the price you pay. Take note bathrooms can be slippery. Pier area has a few restaurants and bars, nothing fanciful. Rent a car for better eats.

We unfortunately only stayed one night but the accommodation is very nice. Although in the higher price bracket for the area the rooms were very well set out and very clean. It has on-site spa facilities and a very nice pool. On arrival our room had been setup as a twin rather than double as requested and we were instantly upgraded to their suite which was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was included and had options for traditional Thai or Western food. All the staff were very friendly and it was only a few minutes walk from the main marina. Overall it was a perfect stop for our needs.

Stayed three nights over the course of 10 days - before, between and after two excursions on a live-aboard dive boat. Rooms are clean and nicely appointed with a mini-bar. The pool and outdoor sitting area is lush and quiet. Service was friendly and efficient. A basic breakfast was included, it was all very nice. A relaxing time, hope to be back.
