Rattana Mansion

We stayed here in December 2019. The staff, very friendly and pleasant people. The room is also ok however air conditioning isnt fantastic but we were left absolutely bewildered when we realised that there was not HOT WATER! we thought that this was maybe an issue with the one in particular room though reporting the issue to reception they knew all about this problem!!! How on earth can you advertise a room on platforms such as booking.com with no HOT WATER?!?!? Maybe this is just us though I do not find it acceptable that a hotel doesnt supply hot water to its guests. I appreciate that this is a budget hotel but it isn't acceptable if you are advertising services to the public then you must provide bath or shower facilities. We will not be staying here any longer and would recommend anyone reading this to stay well away. The fact that the staff was aware of this problem and continue to sell rooms is just downright mindboggoing. This is the first review I have left in a couple of years but this really isnt acceptable.

We were scheduled to stay at Rattana mansion for 2 days however due to torrential rain we ended up here for 4. The room is nice very basic but for such a cheap price you cannot grumble. The negative points are that the reception staff didn't speak any English and you had to use google translate if you wanted to ask anything. Also there was police at the hotel a lot which can leave some people on edge and wondering why they are there? Apart from that all else was ok. 3/5

Very average. Room was dark and dingy, but if you just need a bed and somewhere to shower it is fine. Lots of grime in the bathroom, I kept my flipflops on when walking around because I wasn't convinced that the bedroom floors were clean. We had a balcony, but the entire thing was behind a blank billboard on the front of the building so absolutely no light can get through. The worst part was that some kind of machine joined to the air conditioning was on the balcony near the heads of the beds. With the air con on at night (necessary) the machine is EXTREMELY loud and makes it very difficult to sleep. To put it in perspective there was a thunderstorm in the middle of the night and I could only just hear thunder over the top of the machine's buzzing. Also no lifts in this hotel, had to go up 2 very steep sets of stairs to get to the room.. very inconvenient. No restaurant or breakfast, but free wifi in the rooms. If you just need a place to stay for a night it is okay, but definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel for anything more than a night.
