The Nai Harn

Excellent service and the accommodation is superb! 10/10 service and beautiful beach view of the Nai Harn Beach. The bar has several wonderful places to view everything. I loved this spot!

I honestly don’t understand how this place has any positive reviews at all. I booked a bungalow through Booking.com in May, and for some reason, I’m unable to leave a negative review there – so I’m leaving it here. I arrived exactly at check-in time, but there was no one at the reception. The reception was just a tiny, cluttered space filled with pillows and towels, completely unusable and without Wi-Fi. There was no way to contact anyone: phone calls went unanswered, and no alternative contact options were provided. I ended up just waiting around. Eventually, some workers arrived to deliver towels, and only then did the receptionist show up, looking surprised that I even had a booking. I finally got into the room at 2:30 PM. The “bungalow” itself was old, worn-down, and shabby. It was located at the very top of the property, behind all the other bungalows, with a view of other rooftops – barely any sea view at all. That probably explains the lower price, but the condition was inexcusable. There are two kinds of budget places: one where the owners genuinely care and do their best to make your stay comfortable despite the low price, and the other where they just give you the key and don’t care at all. This was absolutely the second kind. It felt like they couldn’t care less once you’ve paid. The bungalow had chipped walls, a filthy and stained small table, and a horrible plastic stool that looked like it came straight from a rubbish dump. The curtains were hung mismatched – one the right way, the other backwards – as if they couldn’t even be bothered to hang them properly. The curtains and bedding were visibly dirty. There was nowhere to store anything. You get just two hanging bars in the room and one in the bathroom, plus two hangers. No shelves, no wardrobe, nothing. The air conditioner barely worked – sometimes it turned on, sometimes it didn’t. I was afraid to switch it off, thinking it might never turn back on. The Wi-Fi barely functioned, cutting out randomly. The bedding was awful – synthetic, full of lint balls, scratchy and uncomfortable. It felt like sleeping on grains of salt. The pillows were terrible. The blanket smelled like it hadn’t been washed – just reused after the previous guests. The bathroom was tiny – an average man or woman would struggle to move in there. The shower head was directly above the toilet, meaning the water went straight into it. There was no shelf for toiletries – just one small slanted shelf above the toilet, so anything you put there would likely fall in. And during your shower, water pours over everything anyway. If you were hoping for peace and quiet, forget it. Right on the nearby cliffs there’s a bar/café blasting club-style music with heavy bass starting in the morning and continuing until 10 PM. All you’ll hear are beats – nonstop. There was only one light source in the room: a harsh white office-style light that flickered constantly. No warm lighting, no options – just one cold, blinking ceiling light that made the room feel even more depressing. Throughout the day, random workers were walking around the property. Motorbikes were parked directly in front of the bungalow. People were constantly staring. I felt uncomfortable and not particularly safe. Honestly, I have no idea how they can charge money for this. It’s shameful. In the end, you’re paying for the location – it’s about a 3-minute walk to the beach ( although not everyone would be happy to climb uphill every time they go back to their room – especially in the heat or after a long day). But that’s literally all you’re getting. You’re better off choosing something else.

This is excellent 3-star accommodation. The commanding view and the proximity to a beautiful beach are the biggest assets but everything was clean and functional. The staff are very accommodating and effective. The food in the nearby restaurant is excellent.
