Malai House

This is our second stay at this resort, the last in 2010. June is off peak, the monsoon season. Paid at a low rate about 1500B. On reaching, we were told that the standard rooms were closed for renovation thus upgraded our room to superior and pool view. We were provided free mini bar drinks daily. Pleasantly surprised. As usual, the rooms were clean and spacious. We get to enjoy the pool, free Wifi and breakfast was good for the price. Two drawbacks though: the resort is manifested with mosquitoes, we did not have this problem the last time; the gyms equipments in the fitness room were either spoilt or malfunctioning. Overall satisfied with the stay and we will return again on our next trip, hopefully by then the two issues would have been rectified.

For the price I paid online - $36 a night including breakfast, this is the best deal I found. The location is literally around the corner from Karon Beach and a ton of restaurants and shops. There is free, strong WiFi, decent breakfast, TV with DVD player in the room and the Mini Bar is complimentary. (haven't seen that before) The part I liked the best was the bathroom, big bathtub and great shower. Clean and modern. I stayed for one night and will stay for another two when I'm back in Karon beach in another week. It's really great value. Shared pool, reception and restaurant with the Sugar Palm Resort. My room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I though it was really good value if you look for least expensive price online. I noticed the prices varied quite a bit from site to site so be mindful when checking. Note: I didn't find the staff very helpful at all. More like a self service hotel. I couldn't even book a few more nights with them. They told me to do it online. Not great service, but good price.

i spend ten nights in this very nice resort.It's located in a quiet street of Karon very near the beach.its a twin complex with the Sugar Palm Karon Hotel.In fact, guests of Malai House can use the same amenities of Sugar Palm like for example the swimming pool and the garden near it. Rooms are basic but big and very clean,with daily towels to use going on the beach. The personal is very nice and caring,even if sometimes,English language is a little bit hard for them. you can choose to have breakfast or not. There is not a good choice of food but its very healthy and fresh.
