Sunset Plaza

When we arrived the reception staff that took us to the room couldn’t speak a word of English, when we entered we saw the sofa and chair was ripped, the curtains were also ripped in all 3 windows so there was no privacy. We told the reception man but he didn’t understand us as there was a language barrier. The next morning we went down to the reception and spoke about the curtains and we had trouble sleeping as the sunlight was coming through. They told us the technician will come on the 11th May to fix the curtains (which is the day we were leaving) we told them this should have been done before we arrived not on the day we leave. They then put up duvet covers on all 3 windows which meant we had no views or sunlight coming in during the day. The day we left the technician came to fix the curtains an hour before we checked out after they did this we got to enjoy the lovely views for the last few mins we had left in the room before checking out. We couldn’t get ready because the technician was in the room then on the dot the receptionist came knocking on our door to leave the room it’s like we are criminals and they were escorting us out. The hotel also sits on a massive steep hill which makes it impossible to go up and down without a car.

After two weeks in this lovely place it seems time to write a review. We found the place on Airbnb. The description of the place matched well with what we experienced. The place is nicely kept, and the same was true for the apartment we had. They have a small truck that serves as a shuttle bus from and to Sunset Plaza, so far as it does not need to take other tasks. Which was the case a couple of times in the two weeks we were there. And in those cases we just went down to the beach. The reason I mention this is because one in our company is poorly walking, and especially when it goes heavily up and down, and right here on this property such a person is being tested. There is about 70-80m from the main road up to the buildings, and "up" must be taken seriously, the increase is about 15%, it is something that raises the pulse, unless you have a really good condition. I recommend you walk from side to side of the road up there, then it is much easier. But apart from the detail we had the stay, there were not many others while we were there, so there was good space at the two pools that are for the property.

Don't book this hotel, it was terrible! We stayed for 5 nights and it was terrible. The furniture is old and not functional, the bed is broken and the apartment smells. The toilet is dirty and smelly, and initially the balcony door couldn't lock, giving someone access to the apartment. There was a safe, but it didn't work even though we bought batteries for it. We tried contacting the host through Airbnb but received no response and no one answered when we called. I often book on Airbnb, but I've never had an experience like this. The most important thing is that the host simply doesn't answer and you are left helpless
