Let's start by clearing up any potential misunderstandings. Upon arrival, we complained about the dismal condition of our assigned room, and the staff promptly moved us to a much better one. After just one night, we decided to leave the resort and the island, despite the beautiful sunny day, and the staff promptly offered to refund us the price of the unused night. THIS REVIEW IS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. This is a genuine warning to travellers. This resort is a complete disaster. Dirt everywhere, staff dressed in improvised attire, mostly playing with their cell phones, despite the resort's state of neglect and dirtiness, unless they're busy with some assigned activity like cooking or driving the guests around. Judge from the pictures. Koh Talu is a private island on which there is only one resort, its rooms, its guests, its staff and its guests' and staff's facilities. What finally made us decide to leave the island, the final straw, was the breakfast buffet, which we had to contend with a swarm of flies. The staff kindly and spontaneously placed a sheet of flypaper on our table, genuinely expecting us to enjoy the (modest) breakfast while sitting next to flies glued to the paper, dying a slow and painful death under our eyes. I posted a review on Agoda with the same photos you see here, but it appears to have been censored. Shame on Agoda for still recommending this resort to its customers.

Very disappointing experience and simply not worth the price. We had a “delux” family room which was very poor. Sludge in bathroom draining from outside shower, smelly pillows, curtains far too small for windows and the room was very tired. It looked nothing like the website pics. The same can be said for the rest of the facilities. Catering is mostly for Thai customers but even then the quality is not what you would expect for the price. Power goes off most of day except lunch time. A bungalow nearby was being refurbished and therefore they had a generator running outside all day totally destroying any semblance of peace and tranquility. Access to and from the boat is somewhat precarious especially at low tide. We booked 2 nights but left the next morning after arriving.

We took a day trip to koh talu island, watersports and food included. Unfortunately the weather was really bad-absolitely torrential rain all day. We stopped to snorkel before the rain and were due to snorkel on another part of the ocean but couldn't due to the weather. They took us straight to the island,where to be fair we were greeted with towels and umbrellas and food. None of the watersports we paid for could take place, so we just loitered around the beach and went in the sea despite the weather. The food was ok- cockroach among the drinks and the counters were just tables erected. I could see outback buckets on the floor and tbf i wouldnt want to see the kitchen. That said, the staff were lovely. The toilets were leaking water from the lights,the floors flooded. No toilet roll. Rubbish along the beach. The whole place just seemed very run down and in need of some love. Shame really, we couldn't wait to leave.
