Tanao Sri Resort and Spa

After seeing the pictures and reading the description of the resort our expectations were high. During the reception and the walk along the beautifully situated path to our property these expectations were more than confirmed, So intensely quiet, surrounded by mature tropical plants and coconut trees, such a scene exceeded all our expectations. Next, arrival at our house: super large room with smart layout of large bed, sitting area, large bathroom, spacious balcony around the authentic house with 2 rocking chairs and a more than great view over the incoming waves. The spacious swimming pool is a short walk away, beach chairs are provided, the staff provides fresh towels in an appropriate colour daily. Breakfast is served on different levels in the space around the pool and is more than full, a delicious combination of Thai and Western cuisine. In short, a great holiday in a great authentic setting.

This is a sprawling resort that's seen better days. But for 1,100 thb per night I was hoping for more. This resort has real potential but with the lack of business I can understand the reluctance to spend money for upgrade. However, the room itself is not bad... it's a spacious room but with shady wifi so I had to use my own cell phone for connectivity. The room and aircon was comfortable, however the shower water was not hot and the buffet breakfast was very basic. But this hotel was next to the ocean which was nice. Overall, this was an average hotel experience.
