Golden City Hotel Ratchaburi

You should only stay in this hotel if really necessary. We came here and the swimming pool was no more accessible and the staff told us that they have to clean the pool the next morning because of three marriage groups came here. Not sure what those marriage groups did to the pool but a guess would be that they were quite unhygenic and dirty. Free wifi in the room - well it is even connecting to the router but you will get no chance to sign in. So the username/password room+number is simply not worth to try. The internet company is not working we were told and as it was weekend they added that they won't fix it. Why they offered it at first place ??? Inside the room the plugs are not at all grounded and because of this nearly killed a hotel technician who tried to fix one of those plugs which disappeared into the wall. The electric cables are open and his test with his fingers was more than strange for a qualified technician. They did not care about the guest sitting in the bath tub before starting their tests. So suddenly the power went off. It took only short time until the technician changed the plug but than finally the complete power went out. After they changed us to a new room where the bathtub water supply wasn't working without manually pushing down the button we also realized that the tv in that room wasn't at all setup correctly and had a very snowy pictures. In the blackout room the TV showed a clear picture until the blackout. What will happen during the night and tomorrow we will see. The hotel staff is nice and friendly but they are working on a sinking boat under liberian or panama flag you will soon realize after entering that place. The aircondition filter seem not to be cleaned as soon after starting it your noses will be having problems. 800 THB is way to much for that quality which is worth not even 200 THB because of the major security risks you are facing. 2 breakfasts are included. If you are traveling with your child(ren) than they will charge you 100THB/each for the breakfast.

Firstly, a word of praise for the Hotel staff... they were charming, perhaps a little lacking in spoken English, but they tried. Wish we could say the same about the actual hotel. It's a time warp... circa 1970's and guess they've touched nothing since the day they opened, smelly room carpets, grey, not white, towels. knocks and bumps on the fitted furniture. Does the Manager/ Owner actually INSPECT their property. It really is a disgrace and needs a multi-million make-over be it Baht, Dollars, or Euro. Surprisingly, the bed was comfortable and the bed linen clean and tidy. The central Air-Con .... they said it was working ..... could have fooled me. Dear Oh Dear.

Awful restroom. I never found the worst restroom of hotel before. I give this No.1!!!! My sister was too afraid to poo poo. I totally tried to stop breathing for a while while staying there. Bed & furniture were old (A/C also) Breakfast was not clean, my mom found egg of Cockroach in there. OMG!!! why she didn't tell us before!!!!
