Marina Resort And Restaurant

They cancelled our booking which was paid a month ago on the night we arrived. Crazy... it’s midnight and we had to find a place to stay. You get what you paid for the facilities but it’s just an over night stay just before heading to Koh Lipe in the morning. Staffs were unprepared to handle the situation and the owner was just arrogant.

Marina resort is 800 meters, 10 minutes’ walk, from the Pak Bara Pier where the boats for the archipelago leaves. Since the last boat leaves around 15.30 there is often a need to stay over in Pak Bara. Waiting for the boat is also the only reason to stay in Pak Bara, I’d say. This is a small basic hotel next to the sea. Rooms are very basic, but fairly clean and also fairly cheap. Rooms had air conditioning, coffee/tea, a fridge and a TV. Wi-Fi was free and quite fast. The hotel owner friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant that serves dinner and breakfast, but I didn’t try it. A double room was 1000 baht (€25) and a single 700 baht (18€). Downsides Bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. Bathroom was in huge need of renovation and the hose kept dripping making the entire floor wet all the time. I can’t recommend the place, but there is not many hotels to choose from in the neighbourhood so it might work for one night.

Stayed here for the night as we were catching the boat to Koh Lipe the following morning. Nothing to really write home about but wasn't expecting too much. had some food from the dining area, was okay. Room was clean, the bathroom obviously hadn't been cleaned since the last guests (empty toilet roll tube, used bar of soap, towels smelt bad) The room rate was overpriced for what it was.
