Chaweng Budget Hotel

I took a standard room. In the residence. It was clean. Yeah, sure. Bathrobe and flip-flops , umbrella available in the room. Beach towels. I didn't get the basket advertised. The hotel is across the street from the Cover (same reception). Where you'll have bungalows. More expensive. Beautiful beach in front. I enjoyed the pool. buffet breakfasts very good. All we need is a balcony. Very welcome and services.

The hotel was ok, nothing more than that. No hot water. One day we came back from our 42 island trip and we noticed that our door was open. At the beginning I thought they were in the middle of making up my room. But no one was inside. The house keeper cleaned the room but didn’t close the door. Anyone could have just walk in to my room and take whatever they wanted. They offered us free breakfast for the “little” inconvenience. I was just speechless, I wish no one to come back to their room and find out it is wide open.

Yes, what you get for your price is pretty good. Good location, use of the resort's facility. However, our room had a horrible damp smell (room 208)and the staff were not very present. We had to constantly call them as they would be over at the resort and they were reluctant to come over. When we wanted to check out, they refused to come over and asked me to go to the resort to check out, only to ask me to walk back when I went there, as they said the card machine was only available at the budget hotel(which didn't make sense). We had a taxi waiting to take us to the pier and I explained this to the lady (as she said it would take some time as housekeeping had to check the rooms before we could check out) , who then started blaming me and saying I should've checked out earlier or during breakfast. I told her I rang the resort 15 minutes ago and spoke to her and she was the one refused to come over to the budget hotel - to which she had nothing to say. Finally, we have been in Thailand for over 2 weeks and everywhere we went they accommodated for vegetarian/vegan meals - even if they had a buffet, they would prepare something from the a la cart menu. Here they refused to do this, so the only options for breakfast were: fruit, salad, bread.
