The Beach Village

We were expecting good things as the images and brochures we had looked great, however when we checked in we sharp realised that they were dated. Within 20 minutes we found a new hostel to stay at and checked out. We were taken to a private room which was disgusting. Our door had an inch gap, there was a hole in the ceiling, and we had to lock our door using a padlock and key. There was no way to lock the door from inside so it was unsafe to be staying in. The ceiling was also mouldy and disgusting. The staff all seemed really friendly & the pool area was okay, but we didn’t feel safe staying there. No arguments as checking out as they knew the room wasn’t up to standard. We did lose our money but really it wasn’t worth arguing over. Be aware when booking this hostel!!

The hostel pool and beach next to it was nice and the staff were friendly too however must been one of the worse stays I’ve had. The bungalow itself looked dirty and falling apart, bed was stained, bed sheet had a hole, the bathroom was horrendous. Stains all up the wall and floor and the tap water was brownish so had to use to bottle water to brush my teeth. The place was very unhygienic which did not help when I fell very ill after the first day staying here. Lots of bugs and creatures in the room also specially in the bathroom.

We only spent one night here and it was adequate for that. Rooms are all detached, have a double bed, somewhere to put your clothes and an ensuite bathroom. The shower was okay and served it's purpose. It is currently undergoing some refurbishment and they do not have a restaurant, just a kitchen at which we only had breakfast and not the best I have ever had. Other people took their breakfasts back to their rooms. The bar overlooks the pool and they were playing loud music when we checked in at about 4pm, but we were on a quick turn around and went straight out as we had a booking for dinner. When we returned at about 11pm it was shut. The hotel is on the beach and it has a nice looking pool with loungers. The bed was very comfortable and overall we enjoyed our short stay, definitely a backpackers ideal stop over. Cheap and cheerful.
