Eagle View Villa

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Thomas' place. The hotel overlooks a lovely Koh Samui scenic view. Thomas and Nid took excellent car of me. From the balcony you can see the planes come in and go out, which I personally loved watching. I did not notice any noise from this myself. Thomas is friendly and welcoming. Side note, I had a little accident out and about and had to get some medical attention. Thomas and Nid went out of their way to bring me to the nearest hospital on a Sunday evening. Then checked in on me later to make sure I was ok. I would certainly stay here again. Herzlichen danke Thomas...und Nid

First things first, we did not stay at Eagle View so this review is only an evaluation of interaction with the owner. We booked the pool villa for a few days and prepaid on a non-refundable booking for best rates. Upon arrival we were met by a woman whit a phone telling us that we should talk to the owner Thomas. Thomas was extremely apologetic and explained to us that he was abroad undergoing surgery. The distress of this had made him make a mistake when registering availability for the villa. This unfortunately caused the villa to be doublebooked and unavailable to us. Thomas wrote us the day before to explain the situation but unfortunately we missed the email. These things happen, and while I did not ask about the nature of Thomas surgery I did get the impression that it was rather serious and I appreciate that plenty of things in life matter more than hotel bookings. Thomas offered a solution - to comp us for the first night and put us up for free in a different room, and the villa would be available the next day. This was a nice offer and much appreciated but did not fit our needs. We instead asked for a cancellation and complete refund which was granted promptly with yet another apology. I hope the operation went well and you recovery is coming along nicely Thomas. I have nothing but praise for the interaction we've had with the host.

We booked for 4 nights but only barely managed to last for one before we walked out. We'd booked the two-bed apartment with the "4-poster" bed and the double bed with the checkered floor paying an upgrade as we wanted a little space and luxury and given the cost of the apartment and general standards in thailand we thought that's what we'd get. Wrong. The rooms were grotty, tired and in poor repair. The furniture was old and the 4-poster broken. The outside space was grim and whole place was disgusting. The worst yet was the bathroom, which stank so badly of sewers you couldn't close the door and had to hold your breath. The shower was vile and only used out of necessity. For an additional £200 (for our last 3 nights) we found a beautiful hotel "Saboey" on the beach with a breathtaking garden room and gorgeous infinity pool, including loungers and towels, full breakfast and lovely staff - we couldn't leave eagle view quick enough, and btw, its also up a REALLY steep hill, not much fun getting to the beach or getting back up in the dark!
