Coco Cottage Ko Ngai

We stayed at Coco Cottage Resort and the arrival alone sets the tone – pulling up by longtail boat is genuinely a bit of a “wow” moment. We had one of the more secluded rooms, slightly further away from the busier areas. It was one of the cheaper options, but we actually preferred the quieter location. The room itself was good overall, though the shower was quite temperamental – fluctuating between hot, very hot and cold, which was a bit of a challenge at times (probably to be expected given the island setup). The resort has some nice eco touches, including switching the air con off for a few hours during the day. When we first arrived, the windows had been left open which meant a few mosquitoes had made themselves at home, though the nightly fogging does help manage this. Food was a real highlight. Breakfast had a great range of options, and both lunch and dinner were consistently very good. The open-air setup does mean you’re occasionally sharing the space with ants, but that comes with the territory. Sun loungers were a bit of a mixed experience – many were “claimed” early and left unused, so we only managed to get them later in the day. Staff were friendly, helpful and always cheerful throughout our stay, which made a big difference. Overall, a really enjoyable stay in a beautiful setting, with excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere – just with a few practical trade-offs that come with island life.

We stayed here for three nights and honestly wished we could have stayed longer! We were traveling with our 16-year-old, and I was a bit worried he might get bored—but all of us ended up wishing we could extend our stay. The bungalows are absolutely gorgeous—simple yet modern, with thoughtful design details. We especially loved the outdoor shower! The restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. Our package included breakfast, which offered a great variety each morning. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The resort also has so many thoughtful touches, like inner tubes and floaties for the ocean, a small library with books and cards, and locally made items available for purchase. The island itself is stunning. With just a few other restaurants nearby, our days were perfectly simple—spent swimming in the ocean or the saltwater pool (which was fantastic), soaking up the sun, and walking along the beach. Absolute paradise—we can’t wait to come back!

We spent 5 nights in a lovely room with sea and pool views. Comfortable bed, clean well equipped room and the staff are lovely. Breakfast was good but the evening meal was really good. A few things which maybe could be considered? There were young kids running around shouting in the restaurant at breakfast and in the evening for a prolonged length of time, not the staff’s fault but due to inconsiderate parents spoilt our meal times for the 3 out of 5 days we were there, also every day we walked the beach and picked up at least 2 bags full of litter and broken glass!!! So be careful and maybe the island resorts could implement a daily beach clean ?? It would benefit all the resorts, tourists and wildlife!!
