A large, long-established, six-story hotel in the heart of downtown Yasoton. The imposing exterior and luxurious decor of the lobby, which opened in 1994, are truly stunning. The spacious lobby with its depth and the chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling are so visually impactful that they really embody Thailand's ikey social scene in the 1990s. The rooms are similarly furnished in accordance with the theory of luxury hotels of the past, with generous floor plans and comfortable high-quality bedding and furniture. The room windows, which have full-width openings, offer a wide view, while the windows on the upper floors overlook the winding Chi River, one of the city's symbols, and Wat Mahathat, one of the city's most famous tourist attractions. It is a hotel with the longest history and grandeur of Yasorton, but the staff waiting in the reception lobby and restaurant were all veteran and surprisingly helpful, not to mention consulting with the city's tourist attractions, and when I opened up about my injury and the difficulties I was having during this trip, they offered me a meal with the nearest clinic. I would love to stay again the next time I get the chance to visit Yasorton.

Massive conference hotel built in the late 1990’s with plenty of parking. ( Mostly empty during the year since Yasothon is only 22.000 people Popular for weddings and business conferences). Like most older Thai buildings, it is a bit neglected but the rooms have been mostly renovated with new floors and interior paint. The original bathrooms still have a bathtub with hot shower which is appreciated. Clean linens and pillows btw. (Note: Bring a 3-4 meter electric extension cord since plug-ins are limited.) A good price for a basic, clean, secure room with a friendly staff. (American breakfast was 125 baht) 7-Eleven is only a 10 minute walk.

Don’t let the #1 rating fool you into thinking it is a great place. There isn’t much lodging available in Yasothon, so this is as good as it gets, but it isn’t two star lodging. There were signs of deteriorating conditions everywhere. Bare wires, falling eaves, broken equipment, rodents and bugs were all plainly visible. We could here rats in the ceiling all night. The front desk staff were mostly friendly, but were rude when they made a mistake and had me leaving a day early. I showed them the receipt for payment clearly showing 3nights had been paid and the supervisor kept insisting I had not completed the booking... it was a receipt not a request. Finally she realized the mistake was her’s, but no apology, we were just left with a room that had been unmade. On the positive side, while the restaurant was very old and dirty (the fake trees are dusty and dripping in webs), the night cook is very talented. The dinners are exceptional. I recommend you try dinner, especially the Thai food. The breakfast buffet is way below standard and unchanging (cold eggs, congee, and few other cold items with salad and fruit.
