Ibis Lome

Hotel is a little dated. Breakfast not great and if you are a bit later, there is very little to choose from. If you cannot have gluten or sugar - there is nothing. Outdoor restaurant offers good food, but you will need a translator app, if you don't speak French. Staff very friendly, even though there was a language barrier.

First of all, this is not an Ibis Hotel anymore. You still can find signs of Ibis in the hotel (pool area) but Ibis is not running it anymore. First I was disappointed of the state of the rooms. Since Ibis moved out many years ago, there has probably not been any investment in the hotel. Things are broken and it is not very clean. I don't know any other hotels in Lome, so I can't really rate it. Internationally it probably would not get any star, it's more like a motel. But there are good thing about this hotel. The great view, if you have a room with sea view. I would recommend only this view. The really nice people here. I stayed for 4 days and after a while felt home here and the "motel" touch of the hotel didn't bother me anymore. The pool is great, but also here you see broken down things / buildings and you realize that there has been no investment into this site for a long long time. On the weekend it can be crowded, because people from outside also pay to just use the pool as a public pool. I met people from Ghana who just came here to spend the afternoon. Breakfast is sufficient and good. Wifi was most of the time working within the building, not at the pool. Security seems to be quite good here. This is not a resort place anymore, as it looks on the pictures. I have been here for business and spent an hour in the afternoon at the pool. For this it was a great place. The price of about 90,-$/day seemed a bit high, you might get better values at other places?

The hotel was rather disappointing and seeming to be a little dated. The room itself was standard and neither particualrly great or bad. However, the restaurant was appalling with venue limited choice on the menu and then half of it not avaliable. Somewhere I would stay again if I had to but not somewhere I would recommend.
