This hotel is in a beautiful location, overlooking the ocean, with a fabulous PGA golf course adjacent & stunning scenery & bird & wildlife to enjoy. I have been fortunate to stay here 3 times. It is blissful. The staff are incredible. So welcoming & friendly & quite exceptional. Hollis Moore is a star organising the front desk, with his fab team Lisa, Daniella & Crystal, Anton & the 'music man' & all the brilliant boys & girls who make the Magdalena a fabulous place to stay & quite magical. The food is utterly delicious. Chef Marlon & Neil & others whip up fabulous meals, all day long which are divine. Afternoon tea is also a treat. All the staff at the hotel are charming & friendly & create a super atmosphere & are absolutely delightful. Miss Valerie, Caren, Daylene, Natisha, Carla , Kevin, Victoria, Nigel, Whitney, Diamond & Donna & all the wonderful team are amazing. I do apologise that I haven't noted the correct spelling & names of all the brilliant team in the restaurants & swim up bar, but, without exception they are superb & just fantastic. What a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty of Tobago. I travelled with 2 friends, we had an absolute ball & were so well looked after. The pools at the hotel are fabulous. The palm trees 🌴 sway & the swallows & frigates put on a mesmerising display. The setting is stunning & a delicious rum punch awaits you on arrival. The spacious rooms have balconies overlooking the ocean, with the view & sound of the waves, it's quite breathtaking & a fabulous place to stay. The Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort is owned by the local government and has been since 2008 when Hilton hotels pull out. The room and bath room are nice the food was not even worth 3 star the fish dishes looked like they had been cooked and reheated. Many items we asked for were not available.The toilet near reception had 2 of the men’s cubicles closed our second week. Toilets both M and F next to the Kalima restaurant was a health and safety issue the first week and was closed the second week.The toilets M and F near the pool bar we were advised by a member staff not to use them as they were not fit for use. The buffet restaurant no food laid out at lunch time and a waitress had a bit of paper in her hand with 4 or 5 items on it that were available. This is the first hotel we have stayed in anywhere is world that we have had to complain about. The photos on the web site must be many years old as they show a 2 mile beach when we were there no beach was seen as it was covered with seaweed and bottle tops and small bits ov plastic etc and absolutely no swimming was allowed
