May Thermal Resort & Spa

The hotel is very nice and very clean; it's the cleanest thermal hotel I've ever been to. The staff were especially friendly. I'll definitely go again next year, God willing.

In July we stayed 12 nights at this hotel. For me this was the eighth time I stayed here. I always chose this hotel because of the nice garden, the quiet atmosphere and the fact that no alcohol is served. Not because I think it's a worthy 5-star hotel. From the beginning I thought it was a hotel with a 3- to 4-star look. The restaurant, lobby and some other spaces have been modernized over the years. The staff at the housekeeping, kitchen and pools are generally friendly and helpful. Yet many things have stood out this year that are really not acceptable. - Throughout my stay I slept with a duvet that was too small on a bed that was 180 cm wide. The duvet covers were big enough, but the duvet itself was way too small. I reported this, but nothing was done about it. They even tried to tell me that this is normal. See the pictures. - At the women's pool there are only three small umbrellas. Otherwise, there is hardly any shade, so guests have to sit in the bright sun for hours. That is irresponsible. See the pictures. - In the restaurant, an employee (a bald, sturdy man who has worked there for years) took a sausage from the buffet with his bare hands and put it in his mouth, in front of guests. That shows little respect for the guests and is absolutely unprofessional. - While pouring tea I noticed that the kettle was completely covered in limescale. Taps and other parts are also covered in limescale in the rooms. This has been in need of replacement or thorough maintenance for years. - At the outdoor swimming pool music is played that does not match the atmosphere of a hotel. It's more like music you'd hear at a wedding 30 to 40 years ago. Very disturbing. - The children's play area for children aged 5 to 12 years has hardly been renewed for years. There is really only a large trampoline. The other playground equipment is more suitable for children aged 3 or 4. Older children of 10 years also play on it, while it is not supervised. I even had to address the employee to take her job seriously and supervise it. - At the entrance of the play area is a cable without any protection. For 11 days I had to walk with my child every time to prevent her from touching it. This is an unsafe situation. - There is a lady working opposite the reception with bleached hair who constantly looks at guests intrusively. She stares for minutes, which makes you very uncomfortable. A course in customer friendliness and professional interaction with guests would not be a luxury here. My conclusion is that the quality of this hotel has deteriorated in recent years. For the price you pay, you can expect much more. If this level is maintained, call it a 3-star hotel instead of a 5-star hotel. My advice to future guests: adjust your expectations or choose another hotel where you get better value for money. For us this was the last time at Korel Thermal. We are not coming back!!!

We had a two-day stay at the Afyon Korel Thermal Hotel and our experience was very positive. The hotel's modern and spacious design made a good impression upon arrival. We felt comfortable thanks to the staff's attentiveness and friendly approach. The comfortable and clean rooms ensured a pleasant stay. We were particularly impressed by the cleanliness and maintenance of the thermal pools and other spa facilities offered. In terms of variety and taste, the food also met our expectations. Overall we were satisfied, it's a facility I would recommend.
