Barut Sorgun

After travelling to the Caribbean and Mexico we decided to visit Turkiye again, having been to lots of different resorts and hotels. It is not very often we return to a hotel again. If that happens it must be truly exceptional. Akra Sorgun stands above its competitors for a number of reasons. It has absolutely fabulous staff, whose sole mission is to enhance your visit and make you want to return again and again. The Hotel is modern. All rooms have a sea view and its located 1 hour from Antalya airport. I would recommend a private transfer. We use Dursun Side. There is a local bus stop outside the hotel taking you into Side and Manavgat. The surroundings are beautiful, from the gardens to the beach. The food has to be the best we have had anywhere, with so much choice for everyone, and with so much attention to detail. The main restaurant has theme nights each evening. All a la carte restaurants are excellent with great menus. At the Olive Italian, we would like to thank Mehmet Ulker for looking after us during our visit. The Safran Turkish restaurant is newly refurbished, and we love it! It has a great new adult dining area and great new menu this year. Thankyou to Hurun for looking after us. He is attentive, friendly and treats us like friends during our stay. The beach is wide and immaculate. Don't forget to bring scuba shoes with you, as the sand gets very hot. There are stones as you get into the sea, but once you are in the sand is soft . Thankyou to the following staff members: Semih: Main restaurant, breakfast and lunchtime. He always gives such a warm welcome each day. He is professional and gives amazing customer service; such a credit to your team. Atilla: Works lunchtime at ocean, and main restaurant in the evenings. He is such a fantastic member of staff. He ensures you have the best dining experience. Thankyou for our special decorated table each evening Omar: Works on the beach. He greets everyone each day. He never stops working! Just tell him where you want to be located and he will raise up your parasol and ensure that you have enough towels. Thankyou for our lucky charms. Our 4th different Sensatori holiday and by far the best to date. Resort itself is spotless and well maintained. Plenty of lovely open green space. Spent most days at the family pool and well looked after, with attentive staff and life guards on duty throughout. The hotel seems to get all the little things right eg fresh towels available at convenient locations and without the need for towel cards and unnecessary rules. Plenty of loungers available too so no need for the usual early morning scramble. Adult area seemed lovely too but perhaps a swim up bar would have been even better. The staff were amazing from start to finish and couldn’t do enough for us. The food lovely throughout the various restaurants. You can have a sit down meal off a menu everyday and A’la cart available in the evenings. These restaurants were all fab. The buffet was lovely and easily the best we have experienced. Lots of choice and the quality was excellent. The entertainment was great with some excellent shows. You get kids well catered for with kids clubs and activities. Perhaps less to do for older teenagers but as we travelled with a 10 year old, we found the range excellent. The hotel located 10 minute taxi ride away from Side, which is well worth a visit. All in all, absolutely loved our stay. Usually after 10 days we are ready to come home but not this year. We would happily stay even longer.

This is one of the hotels I've been going to every summer for years. Every guest has different expectations from a holiday, and meeting those expectations can be challenging. Because guests' requests and expectations are not homogeneous. One of the main advantages of this hotel is that, due to its location on a large plot of land, it has a very wide beach. For those who love seaside holidays, there are perfect sea, sand, and relaxation areas. Although the sea entrance is a bit pebbly, the sandy beach and, depending on the season, the clear sea offer a rare and enjoyable seaside experience. The comfort and enjoyment of the beach area are provided by the beach and bar staff. Thanks to Mr. Ömer for the beach's organization and cleanliness, Mr. Sadrettin for the beverage service, Ms. Ayşe at the bar, and Mr. Eren in charge of the cabana service, you'll have a wonderful time. The hotel offers a wide variety of delicious food and beverage options throughout, so you're sure to find something to suit everyone. Now let's talk about the à la carte restaurants... Each of them offers food and presentation that gives you the opportunity to experience a Michelin-starred restaurant. Here too, you owe this enjoyable experience to Chef Ali Ersoy and his team. One of the hotel's greatest advantages is that all its rooms have sea views. It is an extremely clean, well-maintained, and tidy place. Having stayed in many hotel groups over the years, and as someone who loves seaside holidays and expects decent service, I would like to point out a few things. The time you spend on vacation is extremely important and special. Even the slightest hiccup, and the hotel management's approach to dealing with it, can affect your entire vacation. Therefore, the dedicated staff who closely attend to you and communicate with you from the moment you arrive at the hotel until the end of your stay are one of the reasons why other guests, like myself, choose this hotel. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Ali at the reception for his support in welcoming us and directing us to our rooms, to Mr. Taner for his usual attentiveness and helpfulness in every matter, to Mr. Okan for his caring approach and courtesy in guest relations, and to Sid for his smiling face and attentiveness. I would also like to thank Mr. Umut and Mr. Semih in the main restaurant; Mr. Ibrahim, Mr. Cihat, Ms. Derya, and especially Mr. Batu in the Ocean Ala Carte Restaurant; and Mr. Serdar in the Olive Ala Carte Restaurant for all their efforts and attention. I would like to highlight that the hotel's senior management and dedicated staff are a significant contributor to guests choosing this hotel. All the restaurants under Chef Ali Ersoy's control offer incredible experiences, and I'm sure he can achieve even more with the support of management. The food and presentation are so wonderful, you just have to experience it. I thank him again and again for running this business so beautifully. The working conditions and environment for staff serving in the beach area during the summer heat need some improvement. For example, there is a great need for arrangements that will facilitate Mr. Eren's services in the Cabanas. Unfortunately, this deficiency has persisted for years. In addition, innovative cooling arrangements should be developed for the Ocean Restaurant on the beach, as both guests and staff have a difficult time due to the heat during both lunchtime and evening. Given the known weather conditions in the Antalya region, it is absolutely necessary for a hotel of this size and scale to take action on this matter. There are definitely things that need to be done or implemented, or there should be solutions that the management's R&D department develops for this. I have witnessed that this hotel, which previously operated as Barut Tui Sensatori Sorgun, has taken faster action in its collaboration with Barut Hotels. I have personally witnessed how quickly action is taken and arrangements are made, especially when a guest has an important request or a problem. Therefore, as guests who have been staying here for many years, I kindly request that the Accra administration show a little more dedication in this matter.
