Club Calimera Serra Palace

My wife and I spent a week on holiday, it's a magnificent hotel. This is our fourth time staying here. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the food is fantastic, endless thanks to the hotel's chef who prepares those amazing meals; you will never find such delicious food in any other hotel. Don't leave without trying the Italian, Ottoman, and Fish à la carte. It's a hotel where you'll feel at home, the staff are friendly and very hardworking. If you haven't made your holiday plans yet, don't look for another hotel, your destination should be Calimera Serra Palace. The hotel has been extensively renovated, and the staff are incredibly attentive. They work like busy bees. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The Italian, Ottoman, and fish restaurants offer delicious dishes. I congratulate the head chef; the breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all wonderful and exceptionally tasty, deserving of 5 stars. There's a waiter named Berkay who's incredibly hardworking, polite, and respectful; you can see him constantly running around. It was a wonderful experience for me, and I highly recommend this hotel. I also thank the hotel manager, Mr. Ahmet, for their hospitality. See you next year!

Hotel itself is nice and the pools and slides are great for kids. The bar queues are absolutely ridiculous though. Hotel is fine if you are happy to wait 40+ mins for a drink in the evening. There is a main pool bar which only has one server on it. The hotel really needs to think about making self service available for bars and soft drinks - or keeping cocktails exclusively to the cocktail bar. The cocktails are really delicious and it’s great that they are not out of a machine - but this results in overly long queues as you need to wait for a long time even if you just want to order a soft drink behind those ordering large orders of complex, freshly made cocktails. It’s pretty unacceptable for a hotel of the size and volume of guests they have and really did sour a few nights as it felt you spent most of the time planning when to try and get a drink. Med from the animation team is great and hosted darts and football which the kids really enjoyed. It seems a lot of the rest of the animation team are actually just salesmen though - pressuring and harassing kids and parents to buy t shirts at €15-€20 each - approaching you at the poolside or when you are trying to relax. I was particularly annoyed when one animation member of staff spoke to my son at the side of the pool, asked if he would like a t shirt and then asked him to point where his parents were sitting as he would then come over. It feels underhand and more like they are focussed on putting pressure to hit some kind of sales targets rather than being purely focussed on the entertainment of the kids. I’ve never experienced this in any other hotel before. The food is okay - the beach restaurant for lunch being the best. Be aware - a lot of things seem to close early / ahead of schedule. On several occasions the slides and ice cream were closed at least 10-15 minutes before the advertised time which was a bit annoying. Room was spacious and modern in the main reception block but a bit of a treck daily to the main pool and back. Overall a good family holiday but spoiled by some of these details. We wouldn’t stay again.
