Side Mare Resort & Spa

We stayed with two couples at Hotel Side Mare and had a fantastic holiday. For us, this hotel is absolutely recommended and it definitely deserves a 9! What struck us immediately was the excellent hygiene. Everything is kept extremely clean. Around the pool, the tiles and sunbeds are thoroughly hosed down every few days. You don't see any hair or mess anywhere; the staff really do everything to keep the hotel neat and well-groomed. Also the food was excellent. There is a very extensive choice of dishes and every night there was a different theme. There's something for everyone. In addition, the atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. No noise or ringing of plates and cutlery, allowing you to enjoy your meal peacefully. A big plus we found the 13+ zone. Wonderfully quiet and ideal if you want to relax without crowds. Really a great addition! The rooms may not be the most modern, but they are neat and everything works as it should. If we can name one area for improvement, we would advise investing in slightly more comfortable beds. They're fine, but not great. The staff deserve a big compliment. Everywhere in the hotel we were kindly helped and everyone is visibly doing their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. When we were bothered by noisy neighbors, this was solved immediately and, despite the high season, we got another room without problems. That's what we call good service! The hotel also has many cozy seating areas, so there is always a nice place to relax. The location is also very pleasant. Shops are within walking distance and the main market, held every Tuesday and Thursday, is about ten minutes by taxi. Definitely worth a visit! The absolute icing on the cake for us was the old town of Side. What a wonderful atmosphere! Cozy streets, nice shops, a beautiful harbor and cozy terraces with sea views. That really gave us the ultimate holiday feeling. At a small extra cost we enjoyed a delicious fruit cocktail every day and the hammam in the hotel is also highly recommended. Give yourself that relaxation, it was delicious! All in all, Hotel Side Mare offers excellent value for money. Thanks to the good service, the hygiene, the delicious food and the nice atmosphere we enjoyed our holiday enormously. We would definitely come back here again!

We have already been to various hotels. This hotel exceeds our expectations. It is absolutely great here. We are here with our son (10). The food is top-notch, the service is absolutely top-notch, friendly, and accommodating. The grounds are clean. The entertainment is definitely suitable. So, we would love to come back. I actually always have something to complain about, but here I cannot say anything bad. It is in my top 3, definitely... Greetings to everyone at the hotel

Our experience, despite all the positive reviews we had read beforehand, was very disappointing. We expected much more from a 5-star hotel. What we especially missed was an enthusiastic animation team that organizes fun activities for the children. There was hardly anything to do and the animation team seemed to be mainly concerned with selling T-shirts rather than entertaining the guests. In addition, we found the overall service and atmosphere disappointing. We are used to other hotels in Turkey, all 4-star hotels, and they were in our opinion better than this hotel in several ways. At those hotels there were fun activities on and around the water, foam parties for the children, music by the pool and a cozy atmosphere during the day. At this hotel that was not the case at all. All you heard was the music from the surrounding hotels where those activities did take place. For us this was a huge setback. What we also found very strange is that there is a minibar in the room, but it is only refilled once and then no longer. At a 5-star all-inclusive hotel, we expect the minibar to be replenished daily. This is the first time we have seen this not happen. We read a lot of reviews from guests who have been coming back here for five years or more. Our advice to those people would be to try another hotel in the same price range. We think that’s when you’ll notice how much is offered at similar hotels and how big a difference it can be. Many people speak highly of José, but our experience was unfortunately completely different from what is described in the reviews. For us this was the worst holiday and the worst hotel we have ever been to. You can really expect more from a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, this hotel absolutely did not meet our expectations and we would not recommend it. Maybe our expectations were too high because of all the positive reviews, or we are simply used to other hotels. But based on our own experience we do not consider this hotel worth 5 stars. That is of course our personal opinion, but we would not go here again.
