hello everyone!..if you are thinking of staying around the laleli area in istanbul dont try out the BEYAZ KUGU HOTEL... the service was not what i expected the rooms are o.k and the service is slow.the people working there are few but the ownwer is also the waiter and the breakfast server and cleaner to a point where he stood over the table to pick up our unfinished plates of food. or whatever food they thought was the breakfast sooooo poor it was a very bad experience and i would like to sayTHANK YOU TO THE RECEPTIONIST CAGRI DERIN WHO WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO HELP US! they are very lucky to have people working like that for them!... the bathroom is just the right size not to small and it was fair but the rest of the room needed cleaning.nope never going back the only reason is the wonderful receptionist he desevers better.

I went to Istanbul with an organized group so there was no much choice of the hotel I was staying. My expectations were low before the trip as the price of the stay was very cheap. Still, it was worse than what I had expected. First, we checked-in a bit late - 6 p.m. as my boyfriend and I went sightseeing in the town. However, when we came to hotel to demand our room, the reception guy informed us that we were lucky to have a room at all because our guide had told him that everyone from the group had already checked in. We were given an attic room with a sloping ceiling that we bumped into whenever we walked around the room. The room itself was very small and rather dirty. The bathroom was almost completely dark as one of the lights was not working and the other one was not working properly. The personnel on the reception barely spoke English. Because of that, we had to explain our problems to them through our guide who spoke Turkish or through putting down number of the room, streets, etc. However, as most Turkish people, they made us feel we were special, as if celebrities with their attitude. The breakfast was ok, not diverse or pompous but you can call it a nice breakfast. It was the same choice every day. The summoning from the mosque nearby at 5 am was a bit disturbing our comfortable sleep but this is a normal thing to expect when in Istanbul or any Muslim part of the world. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was in the historical city centre near the Laleli University, the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
