Anemon Galata

Went to rooftop bar for cocktails. Service and attitude of staff especially maitre de was disappointing. After placing our order, I asked for assistance in obtaining WiFi password, she took my phone then threw it back on table saying she couldn’t help! Other surrounding tables were being offered small bowls of nibbles , nothing for us 😏 After paying the bill, we got up to leave, no acknowledgment of our customs or even a goodbye! She couldn’t even make eye contact. Felt very, very disheartened.

We've just spent 10 days at the Anemon Galata, and although I very rarely write reviews, I was driven to write this one to comment on the outstanding serviced we received from all staff. From our initial booking, the communication was excellent, with emails answered quickly. We had a friendly welcome on arrival, and the reception staff member was always helpful and polite whenever we had a question. I really wanted to single out the room cleaning staff for special mention. They were so friendly! In really got the impression they enjoyed having us stay, and almost every morning would say hello, shake hands and make conversation. The room was a decent size, and sited in the side laneway, so noise was not a problem (although I suspect a front-facing room may be noisy at night). The hotel is literally right in from of Galata Tower, so it can be challenging on arrival for the taxi to make it's way through the crowds. Other than that, no complaints, and apart from the airport transfer, we stuck to public transport. The hotel is a short walk from Shishane Metro, and from the ferry terminal at Karaköy. We also used buses quite extensively. I would definitely stay at this hotel again - they were so helpful.

To describe the hotel , it 's in a fantastic location right at the bottom of the Galata where you can get lost in the crowd or get inside and watch the crowd . The building's structure and architectural location are old, but the service, warmth, and energy inside were great. You won’t have a chance to find the restaurant’s landscape anywhere else. The Galata Tower on one side and the Galactic on the other. The Yasin gentleman who assisted with the Reservation process, the Kayhan gentleman who smiled with friendliness and felt safe whenever we met at the hotel, also thanked Silk lady ..
