I booked this hostel because the photos suggested there were work/study areas available, which was essential for me, but the experience was very frustrating. The hostel looks huge in the photos, but it's actually much smaller, and there is no proper common space at all. The only available area is next to the reception and it is extremely noisy all day long, with guests and staff speaking very loudly all the time, laughing as if they were drunk, including during the evening. This makes it impossible to work, study, or take meetings. For anyone who needs at least a minimally quiet environment, it simply does not work. In addition there is no kitchen, which forces all guests into a single shared space, making the noise and lack of comfort even worse. The beds and cleanliness are positives, however these factors are overshadowed, especially considering that this seems to be a common need among many guests. Overall, I would not recommend this hostel for remote workers or tourists who need a quiet environment. The experience was quite stressful and affected my entire stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mert, Mert Ibrahim, Talha and Ahmed, were an invaluable part of the support system of: Concierge Administrators at Bunk Hostel, also known as, Wabi Sabi Hostel, (but most recently known as): The Central House, Istanbul, Taksim. *There are multiple: 'The Central House' hostels, in Istanbul, (from the same company just different branches, like the one near Galata Tower, aswell): So please, make sure it is the one in Taksim, which is this one. The staff, accommodation, and onsite services are excellent quality. The hostel is clean with rooms and toilets cleaned regularly by staff. There is even a washing and drying service within the building and even a communal fridge, if you prefer to make your own meals. The named concierge support workers & teams are exemplary in ensuring their guests have the best stay. This was the first holiday of my life, (and I obviously encountered the regular issues a tourist encounters in a new country), but... The support workers: (Mert, Mert Ibrahim, Talha, and Ahmed), proved invaluable, in ensuring my safe stay, travel arrangements (and other appointments), continued, without any problems, and gave me the much-needed 'confidence boost' I needed, as a tourist, in the beautiful city of Istanbul, Turkey. The Central House offers a really cool bunk bed system, complete with night light, charging socket, and privacy curtain on each bunk. Lockers are also a massive benefit in each room. There are at least x2 shower rooms and x2 toilets on each floor, so you are always, close to feeling fresh. If you are not a confident traveler then my advice would be to choose a hostel which provides a level of support to help you become more confident in taking buses, taxis, and trains in a new country as well as the best places and restaurants to eat and even the best grocery stores to buy your body wash shampoo and lotions from, Etc., also with such great staff, this means: you can 'pack light' and simply arrive at your destination somewhat 'Carefree', (which is the whole point, when on holiday abroad), and this destination did not disappoint! *There is also a beautiful enchanting white cat, (that seems to know exactly which tourist is feeling lonely), and she provides so much love, care, and attention, to her guests as well! Thank you so much: Mert, Mert Ibrahim, Talha, Ahmed and team! You really helped me have more confidence in Turkey (and I will definitely return again!) Sincerely, Jamaal
