Celal Aga Konagi Hotel

We recently stayed in the hotel despite the number of poor reviews. It was a cost effective solution for a family that needed 3 rooms for 3 nights. It’s in a great location for the tram and metro. Easy access to Haji Sofia, Blue Mosque, cistern basilica and the Grand Bazzar. The rooms are smallish, but everything works. The lifts were a little temperament. We didn’t use the indoor pool, but did the rooftop one, which was fine. Though a few broken sun beds and the pool music was totally inappropriate mid afternoon (rap music with really bad language and hey I’m no prude). The breakfast completely random stuff. The staff in the main are friendly and helpful. So if you are simply looking for a good value base for a few days in Istanbul it’s a decent choice. There is always something to complain about if you are someone who looks hard enough to find the issues.

Terrible experience They gave away our pre booked room to other people whilst we were on our plane there. When confronting them they blamed their system and us. The woman at the front desk was especially rude. We asked for their manager and they lied saying he wasn’t here at the moment but we saw him walking around with other guests. In the mist of us trying to find a solution the woman at the front desk decides she’s had enough and clocks out. So she gets to go home all comfortable and we were left trying to figure out where we’re staying the night? Okay cool We ended up having to find another hotel. No compensation nothing just left with hungry kids that haven’t eaten all day. Do not go to this trashy hotel. Absolute bs

Avoid this Hotel. They claim to be 5 stars and the reality is that is a 3 stars maximum. The hotel is old, room service awful and breakfast terrible.
