Golden Palace Hotel

Having travelled to many countries around the world, this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I checked out after just one night (I was supposed to stay for 4 nights) The double room I booked had mould in the fridge and, at night, constant noises from rats that had probably made a nest between the ceiling and the ceiling panelling (the breakfast area is on the floor above); there was also mould in the bathroom, hair and stains on the bed, a broken, leaking shower, the chimney from the restaurant next door emitted foul odours, and the soundproofing was terrible (the railway is just a few metres away). The staff were rude and unprofessional. I strongly advise you to read all the genuine reviews carefully, including those on Google, before booking, and perhaps choose another hotel so as not to ruin your holiday.

Within walking distance of all the main sights and on a good tram service, this is a great place to stay in Istanbul. The rooms were very comfortable and critically very quiet, with excellent bathrooms and beds. Breakfast was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

We went to this hotel, as the hotel we have booked before was not clean one. The staff was very friendly, the room was big, clean and the breakfast was average. I would recommend it as the value for the money and for the location.
