Opera Hotel

Have just returned from a short break at this lovely hotel and have nothing but positives to say. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and well maintained, we had a top floor balcony room, as soon as you walk in the view is wow, truly spectacular! The view from the lobby/bar/restaurant terrace is also very good. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of both hot and cold choices. The pool though not large was clean, had full sun from around 10 til 3 while we were there and provided a welcome chance to escape the Istanbul heat. Be careful around the pool as the tiles get hot and extremely slippery when wet. I have nothing but praise for all the staff who were unfailingly friendly and helpful whilst remaining professional, nothing was too much trouble. Yes there is a hill to walk up to Taksim Square but it is not steep and only took about 7-10 minutes at a moderate pace. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Magnificent rooms with Bosphorus views, very friendly staff, delicious breakfasts and TOP location. Chosen because of its proximity to the Tupras Stadium, only 7 minutes from the hotel. Came especially to the concert Scorpions🥰 but location in general mega convenient near Taksim and the waterfront, trams and subway❤️

Let's see. The hotel itself is not bad. But there are many things that no one mentions. First, it is not in a good location; you have to climb a huge slope!! From the tram. Or you are a 10-minute walk from Taksim. You have nothing around, no supermarket, no restaurants (only one with a Michelin star) below. The spa is unheard of. They do not even provide flip-flops to walk around there. The dressing room has air conditioning set to 10. The buffet is scarce, very Asian, and one day the milk was bad. Imagine drinking spoiled milk in Istanbul. The pool they advertise is sad, with neighbors on the balconies, and it does not get sunlight. You pay for it and the spa too, but they are worthless.
