The Empress Theodora Hotel

We stayed just these days in this lovely hotel. The location is excellent for visiting all the places in Sultanahmet on foot. Very close to the tram stop. The rooms are small but well organized in terms of space. A kettle for water and a good supply of tea and herbal teas are available. In the refrigerator, there is a bottle of water per person provided daily. The bathroom is practically new, spacious, and has a very large shower. The tidying of the rooms is done daily with impeccable cleaning. The buffet breakfast, abundant and catering to all tastes, is served on a lovely terrace. The staff is always available, kind, and smiling. TOP!

In Istanbul, we stayed at The Empress Theodora Hotel. It is located within walking distance of the main attractions: Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, Archaeological Museum, etc. Nearby public transport stops, restaurants, many shops with souvenirs, goods and sweets. The hotel itself is very small (as I love!) and the front door is also very small)) We even passed by for the first time)) The staff is very friendly. We lived on the second floor. Climbing/descending the steep stairs with suitcases... not so good... Rooms are small, good, comfortable, clean, equipped with all necessary (slippers, safe, hangers, TV, soap facilities, hairdryer, air conditioning, refrigerator, water, kettle, etc.). Breakfasts were held on the top floor terrace... umm... beauty! But breakfast itself disappointed us ((In general, we liked it.

Great price and great location but the breakfast nothing fancy and the room is arranged only on request (this is perhaps something obvious but not for us and we had not been told on arrival). But the bad thing that makes me put a low score is the shower: no hot water came out, which they fixed after a bit of insistence, but in the complex old-fashioned bathroom. Keep in mind that taxis cannot stop in front of the hotel because the road is only for the tram: if you take a taxi or take an organized trip remember to specify this to the driver.
