Spinel Hotel

A stay in Istanbul marred the fact that the money in the hotel, which was in a suitcase, was missing. Figured it out before we left, so we didn't have time to figure it out. Arrangements have been made for hotel staff to contact us and help solve the problem. First they made contact, then they stopped responding.   From the downside I also note: 1. Tight room. There was nowhere to turn and I had to walk sideways. We asked for a replacement room so there would be two separate beds. But still the beds were so close it didn't make much difference. 2. A worn-out number. Furniture needs updating, some hangers have been broken. Towels were changed every day, but they came across holes. 3. Our room overlooked the yard to some dump. In the mornings, people would come and talk loudly. 4. One day, a cockroach was crawling in the bathroom. We don't know where it came from. We don't know where he disappeared either. 5. People with disabilities and children will find it extremely difficult to live there. There is no elevator, and a tight spiral staircase leads upstairs where the dining room is located.   Pros: 1. Beautiful view from the terrace where breakfast is served. The staff in the dining room are polite and pleasant. 2. Close to the sights.   I do not recommend this hotel. Think carefully about whether you need to choose it. There are many other hotels in the area

The hotel is ideally located, close to all amenities. The rooms are very clean and cleaning is done every day. All the staff are efficient, professional, helpful and particularly kind, with a special mention for Elif. However, the stairs to the breakfast room are not very convenient, and the mattress could be more comfortable.

I want to warn everyone, especially families with children, about this hotel. Our vacation turned into a nightmare. Checked in on November 10, 2025, and on the morning of November 11, we were given another room. On check-in, my underage son slipped and fell down a steep spiral staircase, severely injuring his knee. The reason is the cleaning lady soaped the stairs WET (I stress, it is wet, not wet) cloth, which did not even squeeze, and at the same time she chatted on the phone. The ladder was in the water! I fell trying to run to the baby, too. The worst part is the reaction of the staff. At the reception, the male administrator was rude, said “don’t touch me”, and only then formally offered to help. He didn't even stop the cleaner who started running off and swearing. No apologies! We've learned that we can't get proper service and, above all, safety here. We immediately packed up and left for another hotel. After this attitude, we even fear for the safety of our belongings left in the room. Outcome: traumatized child, ruined vacation and wife's birthday, wasted nerves and money. The hotel strongly recommends against it. Danger and brazenness is what Spinel Hotel is.
