I travel a lot, and noticed that the impression you get from the city you visit is highly influenced by the welcome you receive, which in most of the cases relies on the hotel you stay. Upon arrival I already felt not welcomed and being treated with prejudice. If I am part of a tour group, and the hotel does not appreciate that portion of the business it is not my fault. Besides the fact that this segment keep their light on during low season, for one they will definitely lose any future business from me and my social circle.
Too bad, now Turkey is already not looking as good as my previous international experiences. Think about that when going into the tourism business, you are not only upsetting a guest, but affecting the tourist impression of the city.
